If you’re looking for some retail therapy, Geelong and the Bellarine have you sorted. There are multiple shopping precincts across the region where you can shop for local treasures or international brands, grab a bite to eat and even explore some art and historic sites.
Geelong is spoiled for choice when it comes to shopping. If you make your way to Malop Street in Geelong Central, you’ll find two of the most prominent shopping centres in Geelong, Westfield and Market Square. But don’t stop your journey there, wander down any street in Geelong and you’ll find tonnes of hidden gems.
Just outside of Geelong Central, spanning the nearby suburbs of Newtown and Geelong West, you’ll find one of the most popular shopping districts in Geelong: Pakington Street (or Pako as the locals call it). There are two parts to Pako: River End and the main strip. Both offer a unique shopping experience, so don’t skip either!
Other shopping precincts include:
Waurn Ponds Shopping Centre
Belmont High Street
Garden Street in East Geelong
Each town on The Bellarine has its own main drag of shops. Here you’ll find loads of goodies with local flair.
Portarlington: Newcombe Street
Queenscliff: Hesse Street
Point Lonsdale: Point Lonsdale Road
Barwon Heads: Hitchcock Ave
Ocean Grove: The Terrace
